Why the Cut Should Look Better in Week Six
The right cut for your hair is mostly about how it grows out — not how it looks the day you leave. Here's how we plan a cut for week one and week six.
Simple Process
We don't double-book chairs and we don't rush. The schedule respects your time and ours.
Book the service that fits, or text us if you are not sure. We will help you pick — sometimes a consult is the right first appointment.
Every appointment opens with a five-minute consultation. We talk through goals, look at references, check skin and hair condition, and adjust the plan if we should.
We take the time the work actually needs. You leave with the look, a take-home routine, and a rebooking that fits your real-life schedule.
Why Choose Us
Four small commitments that add up to a noticeably different visit.
01 / 04
Every stylist on the floor is a senior — minimum eight years behind the chair, with their own portfolio. No apprentice work without your knowledge.
02 / 04
Color, cut, and treatment appointments include a real consultation in the booked time. We don't charge separately for thinking carefully about your hair.
03 / 04
We use professional lines like Oribe, Davines, and Biologique Recherche — clean, well-formulated, and matched to your hair and skin condition.
04 / 04
Every service ends with a take-home plan: the right products in the right order, the next appointment timeline, and texts you can reply to with questions.
Testimonials
We grew the studio almost entirely on word of mouth. Here is what people pass on.
01/03
“I had been chasing a balayage I actually liked for three years across four salons. Lumen got it on the first appointment because they actually asked what 'lived-in' meant to me before mixing color.”
02/03
“Their facialist looked at my skin for ten minutes before suggesting anything. She talked me out of one of the more expensive services because she didn't think I needed it. That moment earned a forever client.”
03/03
“It is the only place I have been where the cut still looks intentional six weeks later. The blueprint is just better — they cut for how it grows out, not for how it looks the day of.”

About Us
Lumen Beauty Studio opened in 2017 on a small corner of the East Side, started by stylist-and-aesthetician duo Hana Park and Maeve Ó Conaill. They were both senior at busy chains and tired of the same conversation: hours overbooked, consultations skipped, services rushed.
Lumen is a deliberately small operation: six chairs, two treatment rooms, no apprentice training floor. Every stylist owns their book and their schedule, and every service is built around how long the work honestly takes. That is how it stays calm in here, and how the work stays good.

A skincare routine should usually have fewer steps than the internet says. Here is the case for a four-product baseline and how to add intention from there.

Treatments don't replace good habits. We map which in-studio treatments make sense once a season vs. once a month vs. only after a consult.
